The 17th BRICS summit was conducted in Brazil which discussed many global aspects including economy, governance, initiatives for development projects, recent global conflicts, future advances, technology and more. Many new initiatives were taken including making counties permanent members of united nations which can bring prosperity and integrity for countries. This will make the council more democratic and representative. Leaders of the council emphasized the need for a multipolar world. The summit highlighted the growing influence as the brics nations are connecting with global south cooperation. This represented 40% of the world GDP and the majority of the economy and population. The summit focused on key topics including AI advancement. It also focuses on trade and investment opportunities for countries who want change for their economic growth. They also discussed climate change topics including sustainable development. The countries also discussed AI advances and its effects on human life and positive impacts on business and more. The countries also discussed digital governance and more. According to officials BRICS will invest in the country’s growth and also AI technology and new climate change technologies. BRICS members also discussed finance topics and leading global problems and its timely solutions. The countries presented how melting of glaciers is affecting common life’s so all countries discussed preventive measures for sustainable growth.

The president of Russia joined the meeting through video link and presented his view points on leading global topics. Beside this the foreign minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov represented Russia in person. Li Qiang re-presented the Chinese delegation. On the other hand, the president of China didn’t attend the meeting due to a scheduling conflict.
Challenges faced by BRICS:
BRICS also discussed leading challenges facing the world and BRICS including climate change, global cooperation and more. They also discussed promoting cooperation and development programs. The officials also discussed AI technology advancements and more.
US trade tariff:
Countries expressed their views and called the trade tariff policy of Donald Trump illegal. Countries urged that Donald Trump tariff policy will affect the world economy and it’s harmful. Beside this many countries warned to cut their imports from the US and many to increase tariffs. Trade policies are illegal and it’s riskful for the economy of the world and it will disturb the growth rate. The meeting was held in the capital of Brazil on 6 July 2025.
Israel iran conflict:
Rio de Janeiro condemned the US attack on Iran and called it a violation of human rights. Beside this many countries blamed Israel for continuous violation of human rights. Many countries called our trade policies harmful and riskful for leading economies.
Warning of Donald trump:
Besides this Donald Trump issued a warning to countries who participated in the BRICS summit. Donald Trump emphasised that any country who will join anti American policy will face an extra 10% tariff. Donald Trump stressed that the countries will face serious consequences who will align anti american policy. US president Donald Trump emphasized he will take any step to protect the dollar of the US and to protect the interests of the US. Countries who will be a part of the anti-American agenda will face high tariffs and abandon the US currency.
Health care system:
According to officials brics members also discussed health care technologies and its effects on human health. Countries discussed new technologies like AI advancements in the treatments and also in the patient history and data. Strengthening multilateral cooperation like United Nations, international monetary fund and world bank to give more voice for emerging countries. Countries also discussed promoting trade investments through BRICS.
